What is One Piece? Well, it's not a swimsuit or swimwear! It's a manga by Eiichiro Oda and released weekly on Shonen Jump. Currently, it's already released 518 Chapter and have been a popular manga among the world - OneManga noted that Onepiece is 3rd favourite after Naruto and Bleach.
The Story
One Piece take world of pirates settings. The story is about a kid named Luffy with his dream to be a Pirate King. Luffy began his journey after eating a Devil Fruit, grant him special ability as a rubber, and after one of his best friend lost an arm for protecting him. Luffy search for friends to accompany him on his journey, meet tough enemies, and discover the truth beyond the sea and history.
The Character
Luffy is the main character from this manga. A kid from East Sea. On the beginning of the story, Luffy is known to be a best friend from Shanks, a famous pirate (Later known as one of most powerful pirate force). Luffy is begging to Shanks that he would love to join Shanks as pirate but Shanks always rejects him. Later, Luffy ate a fruit - known as Devil Fruit - grants him a special ability as a rubber man but it made him can't swim. Luffy is known as an adventorous person, somewhat stupid and careless, but always treat his dream and his friend above everything. He likes to eat meat pretty much even he can easily fall asleep while eating. His special ability is Gomu Gomu Fruit. Later he enhanced his ability with Gear 2nd and Gear 3rd.
Zoro is the first Nakama's (Nakama means Crew) of Luffy. He formerly known as pirate hunter. People are recognizing him because of 3 swords he carried, along with black bandana and a hakama. Zoro is a real swordsman. He agrees to go along with Luffy because he believes that he will be the strongest swordsman if Luffy is really made to be a Pirate King. Zoro loves sake very much and he seems not to have any romantic feeling toward any women. Somehow, it seems that he will have more story with Taishigi, Smoker subordinate who resembles his old friend Kuina very well. Zoro is no doubt strong. He is later known as one of eleven Supernovas, a pirate with bounty over 100 Million berry. Even many of his enemies think that he should be the captain of the ship and not Luffy because of his ability. But Zoro is very careless, he is somewhat direction-blind.
Nami is second Nakama's of Luffy. She is the navigator of the ship. She has tremendous ability when it comes with navigating, weather, direction, and treasure. Firstly, she was labeled as 'traitor' , 'cheater', and 'treasure stealer'. Her intention to saves her village from Arlong made her labeled like that. She doesn't have special fighting ability, but along with the journey she realized that she needs to have her own fighting skill in order to protect herself and her Nakama's. Her weapon is Clima Tact, originally made by Usopp for circuss and show business, but later the weapon is very powerful and can manipulate the weather around it. Nami is somewhat greedy, she turned into a brave woman when it comes into treasure.
Usopp is a weapon expert and somewhat has the engineering skill. He made the weapon for Nami and fix the ship on their journey until they found a repairman for their ship. Usopp is known as a big mouth person who tends to lie about everything. Later it's revealed that Usopp character strongly related with her mother death. Usopp might be the weakest member from Strawhat crew, but when it's going to a emergency situation, he often come as a hero for his Nakama. His special ability is to create many weapon for himself, mostly a long range weapon. Usopp also known as a good sniper. On Enies lobby Arc, he rescued Robin by sniping the enemies from very far tower. Usopp also known as Soge King when he had fight with his crew on their way to save Nico Robin from World Government.
There's many other character. Sanji the Chef, is a tremendous fighter from Strawhat crew. He is a playboy type and can't fight any women. Tonny Chopper the Doctor, a Devil Fruit eater - Zoan type. He has shy personality. At first, he is known as a pet from Strawhat crew with 50 Berry bounty. Nico Robin, Franky, and Brook is the latest crew on Strawhat.
